ATTENTION TO ALL CADETS!
I would like to address some problems/issues that we, NCOs, have observed from all of you.
Mergansers (sec 3s) :
1) Complain
2) Do not have the initiative to do things
3) Still being childish
4) Footdrill standard has DROPPED tremendously
5) Not being responsive
6) Uniform is not up to standard (you know who you are)
7) Still having discipline problems.
8) No sense of urgency
*Have NOT showed us the right attitude as the "senior cadets and role model to juniors"
Ravens (sec 2s) :
1) Complain,complain, COMPLAIN
2) Whiny
3) Extremely disrespectful towards seniors during/outside training
eg. on Facebook and SMS
4) Inconsiderate
5) Footdrill not up to standard yet
6) Defiant and ignore NCOs instructions
7) No response at all to NCOs instructions unless we repeat a second time
8) Do not think before you talk
9) No sense of urgency
Even after repeated warnings, this is the list of "bad attitude" you guys have been showing since the start of training last year till now. You guys did improve at the start of last September however after the holidays, the standard dropped again. We also know that sometimes trainings can be boring but we can't help it due to certain problems/instructions given by the HQ or Youth Officers (YO). (But training can be fun only if you guys participate actively in it)
I would like to ask you guys to bear in mind that we, NCOs, are also students at PRSS hence, we do not have the time to entertain whatever complains/bargains you guys have about the training's timing, attire, etc. (especially complaining why the blog/fb is updated last minute)
Aside from that, on Facebook or SMS, please have the basic courtesy to POLITELY ask us questions about anything you are unsure of. If you are unable to attend some trainings, tell us your reasons and we will excuse you. You do not have the right to complain why the timing for trainings/events are early or late as again, it is sometimes based on the YO/HQ instructions.
Also, remember that heavy punishments are only given if any of you show disrespect and disciplinary problems to us/YOs. So do not complain about the punishments. If you do not want any punishments then simply BEHAVE. One for all, All for one.
You also do not have the right to demand the NCOs to change the timing/attire/instructions just for your own personal reasons. Whatever instructions given by us is FINAL. You can only SUGGEST things to us. In addition to this, think before you talk or type back anything to us. (This warning is especially for the Ravens who might be clueless about your rudeness towards us.)
Remember, we are your seniors, NOT your maid/personal secretary or even close friends. We can be nice to you and joke around with you guys but DO NOT take advantage of our kindness.
Finally, as Red Cross is a Uniform Group (UG), so most of the times we need you guys to be serious and alert. We also need RESPONSE from you guys just like how NCC and NPCC cadets answers back their seniors with "oomph".
I hope after reading this wordy post, you guys will understand what we expect from you guys and have a sense of guilt for any of your wrongdoings.
And to end this off,
To my dear cadets, show us that you can change for the better in the future trainings in order to achieve a better and lively Red Cross Unit!

HAPPY NEW YEAR CADETS!
Anyway, school is reopening and so is CCA. There is a CCA Bazaar on the 6th of January 2012.
This is the time to promote our school unit and get a lot of Secondary Ones to be interested in our CCA and join us! :)
To make our CCA Bazaar successful, EACH and EVERYONE of you have a part to play.
For the Ravens,
ALL of you have to make 2 NICE posters to promote our CCA.
The size MUST be in A4 size.
Try to use colour paper because it will look nicer.
Try to make it striking and eye-catching so that of course, the sec 1s will be attracted to it!
It must be HANDED in by Wednesday 04 January 2012.
You can come to Red Cross room after your lesson ends.
For the Mergansers,
We appreciate all the ideas you had sent to us.
On 6th January 2012, ALL of you are to wear the FULL RED CROSS UNIFORM.
Make sure your uniform is in TIP TIP condition.
Only Xuan Lin do not need to wear the uniform.
Also, we need ALL of you to think of souvenirs to give to the Sec 1s.
Remember, the souvenirs you all think of have to be made in BULK.
We need you guys to discuss together as a batch and present your ideas as one only.
(As in give a list of the souvenirs you all had planned TOGETHER.)
Which generally means, someone please take the initiative to discuss and list out the pros and cons of each souvenir before giving us your ideas.
Example: If someone suggested notebook, it might be a good idea but the cons is that is is not possible to make/buy enough notebooks for the whole batch of Sec 1s.
So yeap, happy planning.
There is a first-aid makeup team who will do makeup like fake blood, wounds etc.
Here is the names of those included in this team.
- Xuan Lin
- Aferra
- Ting Xuan
All 3 of you MUST research or find videos on how to do the fake blood/makeup stuff.
By Wednesday 11:59, you all are to list ALL the materials you need to cheryl.rcy11@gmail.com
You 3 can discuss with each other first to make your lives easier.
There are two ma'ams assisting you which are Fatin ma'am and Cheryl ma'am.
That's all for now.
If any of you have any ideas for our CCA Bazaar, feel free to tell any of the ma'ams!
