Here are the details for this Friday's training.

Reporting Time: 1430 hours
Dismissal Time: 1730 hours

Things you are required to bring:

3. Red Cross File & Notebooks
4. $1 for the monthly Red Cross Fund
Take note of the following:
- Cut your nails short.
- Wear spectacle hooks (for those wearing spectacles).
- Tuck in shirt at all times.
- DO NOT drag your footwear.
- Girls to tie bun and wear bun net, clip up fringe and feelers.
- Hair to be neat and presentable.
- Report on time!
For those that have any queries regarding the aforementioned training, or cannot attend it as you are heading overseas on holidays, please kindly send Jiening ma'am a text message and hand over a parents letter explaining your absence when the time arises (when you next come for training). However, please try your best to attend the training (especially the sec 1s, as we will be teaching essential stuff that you may miss if you do not attend the June trainings, and you may lag behind your peers should you not attend).
IMPORTANT! The Cadet's Guide For Messaging NCOs via SMS ©
If you wish to send any of the NCOs a text message, please adhere to the following rules. Sec 2s, you should know these rules very well. Anyway, Sec 1s (Falcons), here are the rules to sending us an SMS. These rules should be followed AT ALL TIMES when messaging us via SMS, either now or in the future.
Rule 1: No spam messages. Do not send any spam messages.
Rule 2: No abbreviations (short forms). ALWAYS use the proper word. For example: instead of using msg, use message; instead of using u, use you; instead of hi, use hello.
Rule 3: Use a formal tone. Don't use words like hi, lol, omg, etc.
Rule 4: Always state who you are at the start of a message. This is to avoid confusing us.
So the ideal text message for stating you cannot come should look like this:
Ma'am/Sir, this is (insert name here). I would like to ask if I have to attend the training on (insert date here) as I (insert reason here), and for that reason I am unable to attend. Thank you.
Here is a modal text message (example only, actual message may vary):
Ma'am, this is Koon Han. I would like to say that I am not be able to attend the training on 8 June 2012 as it directly clashes with the school's Student Council Camp. As the teachers has made it compulsory for me to attend this camp, which is from 7-9 of June, and as my parents already signed the consent form, hence I am unable to attend the Red Cross training on 8 June. Thank you.
Take note that this is only an example, you need not adhere to the template for other reasons (eg. asking what attire to wear) and that this is just a basic guide for sending text messages to us.
Other than that, we hope you have done well for your Mid-Year Examinations and we wish all cadets a happy June Holiday!
Regards,
Koon Han
