Training - 1st February, RC Uniform Guidelines & Sec 1 Basics

Cadets, there will be training this Friday, 1st February 2013.
Here are the details for this Friday's training

Date: 1st February 2013Friday
Reporting Time: 1430 hours
Dismissal Time: 1600 hours
Attire: PE Shirt with dark blue/black track pants (Sec 1s)
          Full Red Cross Uniform (Falcons)
          Mufti (Ravens)

Things you are required to bring:
1. Water Bottles
2. Personal Medication (if required)
3. Writing Materials
4. Dust Cover (for Sec 2s only, to put their red cross uniform into)
5. $1 for February Red Cross Fund

Cadets will be dismissed early, at 4.00pm, due to Parent-Teacher Meeting. Falcons need not bring your mufti this training. Red Cross uniform should be in a dust cover. All cadets, please bring $1 for February Red Cross fund.


Sec 1s, take note that those who are of the inappropriate attire (long nails, no track pants, no bun net, fringe/feelers not clipped up) will have to bear the consequences:
• Long Nails - to be cut on the spot + $1 fine . (Nail clippers are provided)
• No bun net - $1.50/per bun net
• Fringe/Feelers not clipped up - $0.50/per clip.
Remember to bring a water bottle, and fasten spectacles hooks for those with spectacles. Don't be late!

Red Cross Uniforms should be in tip-top condition. Details on uniform guidelines* are below:

(credit should be given where credit is due) So, Falcons, appreciate this and apply the guidelines to your Red Cross Uniform this Friday!



FOR GIRLS:
1. Cap badge should be 1cm above the hemline of the beret. (worn above the left eye)
2. Beret should be worn 2cm/1 finger above your eyebrows. (Beret should be seasoned and slanted to the right)
3. Hair should be bun up with a bun net (for those with long hair) and then cover the whole hair with a hair net. (ALL hair accessories should be BLACK in colour.)
4. Uniform must be WELL-IRONED. (note: There should be 2 well-folded and distinguished lines at the back and remember to wear WHITE shorts.)
5. Name Tag should be align in between your 1st and 2nd button at the right side of your uniform.
6. National Badges (eg. Heritage Trail/ NDP) should be placed neatly above your name tag. (max. 3 badges per row)
7. Other Personal Achievement Badges (eg. Footdrill/OA/RCK) should be aligned with your name tag and placed neatly on the left side of your uniform. (max. 4 badges per row) Note: Total Defence Badge should be 1 finger above your badges.
8. Buttons should be clean and POLISHED. (use a transparent nail polish)
9. White thin crocodile socks should be worn and folded 2cm by 2cm. (no ankle socks)


10. Boots should be polished especially the near the front.

FOR BOYS:
1. Cap badge should be 1cm above the hemline of the beret. (worn above the left eye)
2. Beret should be worn 2cm/1 finger above your eyebrows. (Beret should be seasoned and slanted to the right)
3. Hair should be cut short and not touching the collar at the back.
4. Uniform must be WELL-IRONED(note: Shirt are to be tucked in at all times. Pants are to have distinct straight lines from top to bottom at the front and back. Collars should be standing. Tip: use a clip overnight in order to achieve perfect collars.)
5. Name Tag should be placed at the right side of your uniform above the pocket.
6. National Badges (eg. Heritage Trail/ NDP) should be placed at the right side neatly above your name tag. (max. 3 badges per row)
7. Other Personal Achievement Badges (eg. Footdrill/OA/RCK.) should be aligned with your name tag and placed neatly on the left side above the pocket of your uniform. (max. 4 badges per row) Note: Total Defence Badge should be 1 finger above your badges.

How to season your beret:
1) SHAVE using a shaver/ CUT using a scissors the "hairs" on your beret. Try not to have excess hairs on it as it will look ugly and sloppy.
2) Fold your beret.
3) Finally, you can either iron or put your beret under an extremely object in order to flatten and season your beret.
So, remember guys that your Red Cross Uniform is to be respected at all times. Do not put it on the floor, etc. including your beret! Keep it in a dust cover when not in use.


Take note of the following:
- Cut your nails short.
- Wear spectacle hooks.
- Tuck in your shirt at all times.
- Do not drag your footwear.
- Girls to tie bun and wear bun net, clip up fringe and feelers.
- Hair to be neat and presentable.
- Report on time!
